Happy Birthday Baby!

Hey there!  Hope everybody is having a great day today!  After a slight snow setback yesterday I am happy to report that it looks like spring may actually come to New England this year!  Yay!
It was my wonderful husband's birthday a few days ago.  I had my usual dilemma when making a card for a guy.  I have so many ideas and sketches that suit girls but always seemed to get stumped when it comes to male cards.  Anyway with the help of my trusty Cuttlebug machine I came up with this:
What red blooded male doesn't love diamond plate?  To do the diamond plate, I simply covered a piece of  cardstock with aluminum duct tape that I "borrowed" from my husbands work truck.  (This is sold in all Home Depot type stores it is used on dryer vents and things like that).  Then I ran the covered piece of cardstock through the cuttlebug with my diamond plate embossing folder and there you have it!  This technique is great for cutting out thin metal tags and accents as well.
Here is a close up of the brads I used to attach the sentiment.  The stamps and cardstock were all from my CTMH stash of course!
That is all I have for now, I hope you like this card and are inspired to go an create something!

Lollydoodle

Hello, I have been off the grid for a bit, it has been crazy around here.  The regular crazy day to day and some unforeseen events have had most of my attention.  I have however been scrapping and card making and have a couple projects to share with you.  If the mobile version of Blogger would have cooperated I would have had these up sooner!  Anyway first thing I want to share is a an adorable card kit from CTMH called Lollydoodle.  This is one of the new paper packs available in the Spring/Summer idea book, I have fallen so in love with this paper and all the possible things you can do with it that I made sure to scoop up the card kit, the scrapbook kit and an extra paper pack!  OK so I admit I am a bit of a paper hoarder.  I have promised myself however that I am going to actually use this paper and not "save" it for a really "special" occassion!
I cut all the cards using the included cutting guide in the kit.  I changed up some of the sentiments and used some additional stamp sets.  I seem to have a need for Birthday cards and Thank You cards the most so I wanted to add some of those to my stash that were made from this great kit.
These cards are so versatile, the sentiment could definitely be changed to suit you needs.  I love love love the color combinations on these!
Here is a close up of the Thank You card, I used the included stamp set for this one.

Here is one variation of two I used for Happy Birthday cards, this was one that I changed and used one of my birthday stamps instead of the one from the kit.  The background of the sentiment was done simply by inking my clear acrylic block with no stamp on it!  I discovered this technique by accident a while ago and love how it looks, great for this application!

Here I only inked the edges of the sentiment making it slightly different that the one above.

Last but not least "Hello There" using the included stamp set.  Pretty cute huh?

There you have it my cute cards made from the Lollydoodle card kit, if you are interested in picking up one of these great kits be sure and visit my website, or click on the "shop with me" link on the right side of this blog.
Happy Scrapping, see you soon!
